If you have stains in your pool, they must be removed before adding this product. Remember, Culator WILL NOT remove stains. Our stain treatment kit should be used first, and then add Culator Metal Eliminator after your pool is clean. Culator removes metals from pool water, not stains from the pool surface.

Most of the stains we treat are caused by metals that bond to the pool surface—most commonly copper, iron, and other minerals. CuLator works by physically capturing these metals from your pool water, preventing stains before they form.
Unlike many other metal removers, CuLator doesn’t add extra phosphates to your water. Because it’s so simple to use, you can repeat the treatment several times a year if needed—without worrying about altering your water balance.

Liquid metal removers don't work
Many pool owners are surprised to learn that liquid “metal removers” don’t actually get metals out of the water. Instead, they act as a chelating or Sequestering agent, which temporarily binds to metal ions and holds them in suspension in the pool water. This makes the metals invisible to a water test and can prevent them from staining your pool surfaces for a while.
However, this effect is only temporary. After a few weeks, the chelating agent breaks down, releasing the same metals back into the water where they can once again cause staining and reappear in water tests.
So, while these products might seem to provide a fix, they don’t solve the underlying problem. To permanently remove metals, you need to use a product like Culator that physically removes metals from your pool water, not just holds them temporarily.
